The 9th annual Interior Design Show West (IDSwest) was recently held in Vancouver. This event attracts over 24,000 consumers keen to check out the latest in design products and services, and is especially valuable for those in the market for new home construction or renovations.
Exhibitors represent a wide spectrum of industries, from suppliers/manufacturers of accent materials, such as quartz and granite for tiles and countertops, flooring options, furniture, appliances, lighting and plumbing fixtures and fittings, to home décor items, and works of art.
For those of you who couldn’t make it to the show, fret not! Steelhead Contracting was there and and we thought we’d share some of our favourite finds with you.
Creative furniture that makes you want to be a kid again!
Judson Beaumont and his team at Vancouver-based Straight Line Designs Inc. have constructed some exceptionally imaginative custom-built pieces of furniture, and many of them actually have names! Vern is a regular “visitor” to IDSwest. This year, Vern was accompanied by Vinny (complete with tattoos) and a couple of adorable “babies”, better known as Juddies. Visit the company’s website and you will be enthralled by the extent of their creativity.
Nature + nurture = Living Furniture.
Living Furniture is a new product line that made its debut at this year’s IDSwest. Available through Greenstems, a florist and plant shop in Gastown, this novel, customizable furniture features items created from rescued antique wood combined with terrariums that include low-maintenance plants.
