You’re ready to renovate, and you have a vague idea of what you want, but you’re not sure how to articulate your ideas to your designer. Drawing was never your forté, so how do you create a picture of your dream home? You grab your computer and head to the wonderful world of Houzz.
Since launching in 2009, Houzz – the online community of architects, interior designers, homeowners, home builders and renovators – has grown its database to over eight million photos. For anyone considering a renovation or new home construction, Houzz is a mine of visual inspiration and offers a wealth of information.
Searching for ideas can be done by keyword or you can browse by room and by style, for example Contemporary, Traditional, Mid-Century or Craftsman. You can even narrow your search by region. For the voyeur you can snoop around other people’s homes to your heart’s content, through the Houzz Tours section. Before you start, though, create your own Idea Book so that you can add whatever photos appeal to you as you continue your search. Be as specific as possible when naming your Idea Books for easier recall, such as Bathrooms, Kitchens, Basements, etc.
Also check out the latest trends in bathroom renovations or kitchen countertop materials, or get pointers from people who have completed a full home renovation or rebuild.
You can start your snooping here, and look at a home we worked on. We also have some of our other home renovation projects featured on our profile page.
The only thing you won’t find is enough time in the day to finish searching!
If you already have your renovation plans in place, then it’s time to schedule a free, no-obligation quotation.
