Long-time friends, Craig and Donald each have backgrounds in the trades: Craig's is in carpentry while Donald's is in plumbing. Having established themselves individually in the renovation field they decided to start a company together. In 1996 Steelhead Contracting was incorporated.
While they each bring unique, yet complementary, characteristics and skills to the table, they share a common goal: to provide peace of mind and exceptional quality of work to each and every client, no matter what the project.
"We're in a competitive market," says Craig, "and we rely predominantly on personal references for new projects. It is imperative that the lasting impression we leave once a project is completed is one of total satisfaction, from the initial enquiry, through estimating, the quality of work and project management, the day-to-day communications, to the finished product. We want our clients to be happy with how we have executed their wishes."
Happiness begins at home, however, which means every member of staff must not only share the passion for perfection but also want to be an integral part of the team. The fact that Steelhead has a very high staff retention rate, with many employees having been with the company for over ten years, proves that the directors have succeeded in creating an ideal working environment.
Craig's portfolio comprises large-scale residential renovation and new home construction, as well as commercial projects. Building envelope, strata property maintenance and residential renovations are managed by Donald.
